Actonel

Actonel, generically known as risedronate, is an oral medicine used to prevent or treat osteoporosis a condition that weakens the bones in postmenopausal women. It is also used to treat Pagets disease, in which the body replaces healthy bones with deformed ones.

Actonel works by increasing bone mass, or bone density, to make bones stronger and less likely to break or fracture.

Actonel should be taken with plenty of water (6 to 8-ounce) and on an empty stomach, before your first meal of the day.

Common side effects of Actonel include infection, stomach pain, vomiting, back pain, joint pain and nausea. Do not lie down in at least 30-minute after taking Actonel , as it may cause throat bleeding or pain.
