Adalat CC is a calcium channel blocking agent used to control hypertension (high blood pressure) in order to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, blood vessel problems or kidney disease.
It loosens up blood vessels and increases the supply of both blood and oxygen to the heart. It also reduces the workload of the heart by improving the movement of calcium into the heart and blood vessels cells.
Adalat CC can also used to treat angina (chest pain). It comes in several forms including oral tablet, capsules and injection.
Common side effects of this medicine include drowsiness, increased appetite and weight gain. Some patients who take Adalat CC may experience dizziness, light headache, diarrhea and constipation.
Adalat CC may be used to treat other conditions, as suggested by your doctor.
