Alprazolam

Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that is used to control anxiety disorders and panic attacks. It works by reducing abnormal excitement in the brain.

Alprazolam comes as a tablet and a concentrated solution. The oral tablet is usually taken two to four times per day. The concentrated solution should be dropped into a liquid, such as water, juice, pop or any semi-solid food like pudding.

This medicine may cause some side effects including light headache, dizziness, drowsiness, talkativeness, irritability, tiredness, changes in appetite or sex drive, weight changes or trouble urinating.

Alprazolam may also be used to treat other diseases, as prescribed by your doctor.
