Atacand

Atacand , also medically called as candesartan, is an angiotensin II inhibitor that is used to control high blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke, heart failure or kidney disease due to the damage of the blood vessels in the brain, heart and kidneys.

It works by blocking certain body chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so that the blood vessels relax, blood flows smoothly and the blood pressure lowers. Atacand is available in tablet form that can be taken by mouth twice a day with or without food.

Common side effects of Atacand include light headache, dizziness, cough, muscle pain, sore throat any runny nose.

Atacand may also be used to treat congestive heart failure and other medical conditions, as suggested by your doctor.
