Azmacort , also known as triamcinolone in medical terminology, is a corticosteroid used to treat lung diseases and asthma symptoms, such as difficult breathing, shortness of breath and wheezing.
It works by opening the breathing passages and releasing certain substances that cause asthma symptoms. This medicine comes as an aerosol inhalation inhaled through the mouth three or four times per day, as suggested by your doctor.
Some side effects may occur including dry mouth, headache, cough and irritated throat. Few patients may experience skin rash, blurry vision, muscle weakness or swollen face, legs or ankles.
Azmacort may also be used to treat other conditions, as determined by your doctor.
