Butalbital-APAP, also medically known as a combination of Butalbital and Acetaminophen, is combined with a barbiturate and analgesic to create an oral pain killer that is used to treat tension headaches. It works by slowing down certain cells in the Central Nervous System to force the body to relax.
Since Butalbital-APAP is a barbiturate, this medicine may become habit forming. As a result, your body may become used to its effects after taking it for a long time. Once you stop taking the medication, you may feel the symptoms of with-drawl while your body normalizes.
Butalbital-APAP might cause some people feel drowsy, dizzy, mild headache, bloating, upset stomach, vomiting or nausea.
Butalbital-APAP may also be used to treat other conditions, as prescribed by your doctor.
