Cardura , also medically known as doxazosin, is an alpha blocker used to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia ( BPH ) symptoms, such as painful urination, difficulty urinating and urinary frequency and urgency.
It works by loosening the bladder and prostate muscle groups, so that the uncomfortable tightening or spasms of the muscles can be relieved. This medicine is also used to treat high blood pressure as it relaxes constricted blood vessels.
Cardura comes as an oral tablet taken once per day with or without food, in the morning or evening.
It may cause some side effects like light headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, dry mouth, runny nose, swelling of the hands or feet, muscle or joint weakness or pain, and shortness of breath.
Cardura may be used to treat other conditions, as prescribed by your doctor.
