Cefzil , also known as cefprozil, is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to control bacterial infections including bronchitis and infections on the skin, in the ears, throat or sinuses. It will not affect flu, colds or other viral infections.
Cefzil comes as an oral tablet and a liquid suspension to be taken one or two times a day for about 10 days, as suggested by your doctor. The tablet should be taken with a full glass of water; the liquid suspension can be taken with food.
This medicine may cause some patients to feel dizzy, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, tiredness, headache, stomach upset or pain.
Cefzil may be used in the treatment of other conditions, as prescribed by your doctor.
