Climara , known as estradiol, is an estrogen hormone used to supply the body with the necessary female hormone. It is used in the treatment of reducing the symptoms of menopause , such as hot flashes, dizziness, sweating, faintness or vaginal dryness.
This medicine comes in various dosage forms including oral tablets, injections and skin patches. The patch is normally used on your lower abdomen, hips or buttocks. The area must be clean and smooth for the patch to adhere properly to your skin.
The most common side effects of Climara are light headaches, upset stomach, itching of skin, redness of skin, skin rash, joint pain, swelling of face, lips, hands or feet, breast pain, irregular heartbeat, trouble breathing and weight gain.
Climara may also be used to treat other conditions, as determined by your doctor.
