Clonazepam is available as an oral tablet which is usually taken three times per day with or without food.

This prescription may be habit-forming. To avoid mental or physical dependence to Clonazepam , you should not take more than your prescribed dose or take it too often.

The most common side effects of Clonazepam are dizziness, drowsiness, light headache, dry mouth, weakness, tiredness, diarrhea, upset stomach and changes in appetite.

Clonazepam may be also used for other conditions, as determined by your doctor.

I took Clonazepam for 2 months for anxiety. I found it very helpful, especially in relation to xanax, because xanax has a very short length of relief. I would take two .5mg Clonazepam and I had relief for at least 6 hours, as opposed to xanax, which gave me relief for the most 3 hours. Also, I had been addicted to oxycontin severely, and Clonazepam I had no trouble coming off of.

I have been on and off Klonopin for the past 14 yrs. for severe anxiety and panic disorder. I am now on 1mg. x3 daily and I don't think I'll ever be without it. I can function better and not be so anxiety ridden. I had my first severe panic attack at 15 yrs. and suffered severely for many years leaving me with anti-social phobia. I am now 52 yrs. and am trying to make my life a full one. Anonymous

I have a seizure disorder and have been taking clonazapam for a few years now to control my disorder. I am a military dependent and can't get an appointment before my meds run out. I do not want to have a seizure because the military medical system is not doing their job to control my medication regiment.

I can have the same side effect if I take a 1mg tablet instead of a 0.5mg tablet. This reason for this is the simple fact that Clonasepam is used to bring you closer to that very fine line of feeling yourself. If you're slightly agitated or suffering from some form of anxiety the medication will bring you down to the mid point of the base line. However, if you take a little more than your body needs then you will be below the base line and this in turn can put you in the depressed area. I would suggest that you only take 0.5 mg instead of the 1 mg dose. dose. One other consideration is that this medication is highly addictive. Take it for as long as you need it, and then slowly titrate yourself off of it. I've been on Clonazepam for 19 years and I'm a much better person now than I was before I started taking it. Good luck!!
