If I stop taking the hormone medication by the third day, I start hot flashes, cold sweats, irrational moods, & crying spells. It's very important to stay on the hormone therapy.

I was given a hysterectomy & was prescribed 1. mg. estradiol which made me swell so much water pills did not help. My doctor then prescribed patches 0.0375 mg/day continuous delivery once weekly which does not make me swell & has stopped the rapid weight gain from the higher doseage pills.
