Estropipate is a type of female hormone that is used to balance estrogen levels in women who have trouble producing the proper amount of estrogen in their bodies. It is used to reduce the signs of menopause, prevent osteoporosis (bone loss), and prevent certain types of cancer in men and women.
This drug comes as an oral tablet to be taken one to three times per day, continuously for at least three months, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not double doses if you miss one dose.
Estropipate may cause some side effects including fever, light headache, hoarseness, skin irritation, itching or redness, joint pain, irregular heartbeat, changes of appetite and weight gain.
Estropipate is also used to treat some other conditions, as suggested by your doctor.
