Flexeril, also medically known as cyclobenzaprine, is a muscle relaxant used with physical therapy to soothe muscle aches caused by spasms, sprains, strains and other injuries. It works by blocking pain-coded nerve impulses sent to your brain which allows the muscles to relax.
This medication comes as an oral tablet taken two to four times daily for no more than 3 weeks, as directed by your doctor.
Flexeril has some side effects such as light headache, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, unpleasant taste in the mouth and dry mouth.
Sometimes Flexeril may be used to treat other conditions, as determined by your doctor.
