Ibuprofen

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve certain pains and aches caused by arthritis , headache, cold, back or muscle aches, gout and some other conditions.

It comes as an oral tablet and in liquid form, to be taken three to four times a day, as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine blocks the enzyme in the body that makes the chemical prostaglandin, which reduces prostaglandin production and decreases the feeling of swelling or pain.

Ibuprofen may cause side effects including dizziness, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, nervousness, upset stomach, constipation, gas, and indigestion.

Ibuprofen is also used to treat high fever or other medical conditions, as determined by your doctor.
