Infergen , also chemically known as interferon alfacon-1, is a synthetic interferon used to prevent and treat chronic hepatitis C. It works by blocking the growth of the hepatitis C virus in your body.
The medication is injected underneath your skins surface three times a week. Store the drug in the refrigerator and administer as instructed by your doctor.
Infergen commonly causes some unwanted effects, such as flu-like symptoms with fever, chills, headache and aching muscles. Some patients may also experience anxiety, confusion, nervousness, depression, redness at the injection area, or trouble sleeping.
Infergen may also be prescribed to treat other conditions, as suggested by your doctor.
