Jantoven , also medically known as warfarin, is an anticoagulant used to prevent and treat severe blood clots that may cause heart attack, stroke or abnormal heartbeat. It works by blocking the formation and build-up of certain substances in the vein or lungs.
Jantoven comes as an oral tablet taken once a day, as prescribed by your doctor. While taking this medication, you should not increase the amount of vitamin K rich foods in your diet, such as green leafy vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli, or liver.
This medicine contains side effects including fever, headache, upset stomach, diarrhea, and skin rash.
Jantoven may also be prescribed for other use, as determined by your doctor.
