Kenalog is a corticosteroid used to reduce redness, itching, swelling, and discomfort associated with skin conditions.
This type of medication is a cream, gel or ointment which is applied to affected area of the skin. Only apply the medication in the area which is affected and in the doses recommended by your doctor. Do not stop using this medication without contacting your doctor, even if the irritation appears to be healed.
Common side effects often associated with Kenalog include burning, stinging or tingling upon application. Other side effects which may occur include redness of skin, scaling skin and skin sores. A mild, temporary stinging is expected upon application of the lotion, cream or gel. If the side effects become severe, contact your doctor for assistance.
Occasionally, Kenalog will be prescribed for other purposes, as directed by your doctor.
