Lopid , also known as gemfibrozil, is used in combination with diet changes to decrease the amount of cholesterol and fatty substances found in the blood. Lowering your level of cholesterol and fats will help the blood flow more easily to your heart and brain.
Lopid comes in the form of oral tablets and capsules which are usually taken twice a day. Make sure you follow the directions on your prescription label and never take more or less than what is indicated in your doctors instructions.
Common side effects of Lopid use include diarrhea, stomach pain, vomiting, constipation, dizziness and headache. Users may also experience blurred vision and moderate muscle pain. If the side effects become severe, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
Lopid may also be prescribed for other purposes, as suggested by your doctor.
