Macrobid

Macrobid , also known as nitrofurantoin, is an anti-infective medicine used in the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections. This type of medication works by eliminating the bacteria which causes this type of infection.

Macrobid comes in the form of an oral capsule or in the form of a liquid. It is usually taken two to four times a day for at least 7 days. Always follow the directions on your prescription label as prescribed by your doctor.

Some of the common side effects users may experience when taking Macrobid which do not require medical assistance include upset stomach, loss of appetite and vomiting. Your urine may turn dark yellow or brown as well but this effect is harmless and is likely to occur when taking this medicine. If the side effects become severe, contact a medical professional for assistance.

Occasionally, Macrobid will be prescribed to treat other illnesses, as directed by your doctor.
