I was just prescribed Gabapentin 300 mg for pain, severe muscle spasms in my right shoulder and right upper extremity. I experience numbness and tingling in my right major hand thumb, index, and middle fingers. I had a recent MRI of which I should find out the results next week. I have been reluctant to start the prescription regime without actually knowing my MRI results and especially regarding some of the side-effects. My appointment is on 2/10/09 for Musculoskeltal consult; so should I start before my appointment? I just have a thing about possibly masking the symptoms without knowing what is actually wrong with me. Thank you

Dr. said Neurontin was not habit forming, but I am beginning to wonder. Helps with pain, sometimes light headed a bit, but helps me sleep really sound. Trouble is, I miss a pill one night and can't sleep at all that night.

I am glad i read these comments, after seeing the primary uses for neurontin, i was thinking my doctor new something that i did not. I was hit by a drunk driver and my neurologist prescribed the med. last year, but now after an MRI he said that he saw no significant nerve damage. Should I stop taking neurontin now? Hes thinking lupus now? Should I get a second oppinion?

I am taking Neurontin after having been on Lyrica and experiencing tremendous water retention and weight gain. I am much clearer functioning on Neurpntin and overall less nerve pain. I have lost 15 pounds.
