Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication used to treat minor aches and pains associated with muscles, headaches, colds, backaches and arthritis .
This type of medication is taken orally in the form of capsules. Generally it is taken once per day, although your specific dosages will depend on your doctors directions. Never take more or less than what is outlined on your prescription.
Common side effects associated with this Piroxicam include dizziness, headache, nervousness, constipation, gas, upset stomach and vomiting. If you experience some of the more severe side effects including bloody vomit, ringing ears, swollen hands, feet and ankles, contact your doctor immediately.
Occasionally, Piroxicam will be prescribed for other purposes, as directed by your doctor.
