Ranitidine HCl is a histamine blocker which is used to decrease acid production in your stomach and assist in the treatment and prevention of ulcers. This drug helps to reduce stomach pain, diarrhea and loss of appetite, often caused by ulcers.
Ranitidine HCl is added to an intravenous fluid that drips through a needle which has been placed in your vein. The needle is placed in your vein for 15-20 minutes, one to four times per day, as prescribed by your doctor.
Common side effects of Ranitidine HCl include headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, upset stomach and constipation.
Ranitidine HCl is also prescribed to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and other diseases, as directed by your doctor.
