Septra DS , a mix of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, is an antibiotic combination used to prevent and treat infections such as middle ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections and travelers diarrhea. This type of medication will not work as treatment for colds, flu or other viral infections.
Septra DS can be taken orally in the form of tablets or can be taken through injection into the body performed by a medical professional.
Common side effects associated with this drug include upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. If side effects become worse, contact your doctor immediately.
Septra DS may also be used for treatment of other conditions, as prescribed by your doctor.
