Urolene Blue

Urolene Blue , also commonly referred to as methylene blue, is used in the treatment of a condition called methemoglobinemia .

Methemoglobinemia is a condition which occurs when the blood cannot deliver oxygen to the parts of the body that need it. It can also be used as a dye in order to stain specific parts of the body before surgery.

This type of medication can be taken orally in the form of tablets or can be injected into the body.

Common side effects associated with Urolene Blue include discolored urine and stools (usually a greenish-blue), diarrhea, vomiting and painful urination.

This type of medication may occasionally be prescribed for other purposes, as determined by your doctor.
