Zocor

Zocor is used to lower cholesterol levels and other fats in the body. This type of medication is also known to prevent medical problems associated with clogged blood vessels due to too much cholesterol.

In addition, Zocor may also be prescribed to young individuals (ages 10-17) who have genetically inherited cholesterol problems.

This type of drug is taken orally through means of normal tablets and extended-release tablets.

Common side effects users may experience when taking Zocor include constipation, dizziness, gas, headache, diarrhea, heartburn and nausea. If the side effects appear to be getting progressively worse, contact your doctor or other medical professional for assistance.

Occasionally, Zocor may be prescribed for other purposes, as suggested by your doctor.

I was born with high cholesterol and am now dealing with xanthomas on my hands. The doctors have decided that I am allergic to statin drugs because of the muscle and nerve damage in my arms and legs from the medication. I wish I could find something that would help my high levels.
