Zovirax can be taken orally in tablet, capsule or liquid form or can be applied to the skin by means of an ointment, depending on what your doctor has prescribed.
Common side effects associated with Zovirax include burning or stinging upon application of ointment, headache, stomach ache, diarrhea and vomiting. More severe side effects which may require medical assistance include severe rash, severe itching, confusion, yellow skin/eyes, fever and stomach pain.
