Zyrtec is an antihistamine which is used to relieve and prevent symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergies. More specifically, Zyrtec is used to alleviate watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing and itchy eyes, often associated with all types of allergies.
This type of medication can be taken orally by means of tablets, capsules or liquid or can be taken through an injection into the body.
Common side effects associated with Zyrtec include drowsiness, stomach pain, nausea, headache, weight gain and sore throat. If side effects appear to be getting progressively worse, contact your doctor for help.
Zyrtec may occasionally be prescribed to patients in order to help relieve nausea, vomiting and dizziness associated with motion sickness. It may also be prescribed for other purposes, as determined by your doctor.
